Kufri, Narkanda and Manali are the major sites for skiing in Himachal Pradesh. Kufri A famous centre for skiing in Himachal Pradesh is Kufri. Kufri, 17 kilometres off Shimla, is a major attraction for tourists from all parts of the world. In the month of February each year a sports festival is held in Kufri. It is organized to promote skiing in Himachal. Narkanda Yet another ideal place for skiing in Himachal Pradesh is Narkanda which is 64 kilometres off Shimla. The long ski routes in Narkanda are difficult ones for a beginner but the best for a professional. During the winter months, the whole of Narkanda serves as an excellent ski ground covered with sheets of soft snow. The slopes of Narkanda appeal greatly to the adventure lovers. Several skiing races are also held in Narkanda that make the sport even more interesting. |
